The service was great, from the time we checked into the time we handed the boat back the staff could not have been any friendlier. We had a problem with our toilet and when I phoned them the came out to meet us and fixed the problem. The problem was nothing we had done or anything ABC could have predicted, but Chris Robert and Andrew made sure the repair was completed and we were happy. It seems you really see how good a company is when the have to react to a problem, and ABC were excellent. Would not hesitate to rent from them again.

I was on the Kennet and Avon canal about six years ago and was shocked at the proliferation of house boats and frankly, slum boats, from Hilperton to Bath. The many moored boats created a number of tight squeezes along the way and meant that we were very rarely above idle.! I have been with ABC for about 13 trips now but this was my wife's first canal experience. She found the slum boats so depressing and sadly has no desire to do it again.

Professional service and the boat was fitted out to perfection, including complimentary tea, coffee, milk, and all the other things you expect in a good hotel. The layout of the boat was challenging as passages were very narrow and the "lounge" was split by the kitchen, so make sure you get the boat layout that suits you when booking.

JD Boats at Gailey support ABC hire boats and operate a friendly family run boatyard. The team of engineers, housekeepers, led by Cate in reception and David the boss ensured Musk Duck was well prepared and ran smoothly throughout the 4 night cruise.

The Birmingham Mini-Ring was a mixture of countryside, housing estates and commercial sites. However, we wanted to spend two days in Birmingham, so it was right for us.

Nice relaxing route from Falkirk wheel to Edinburgh. We turned back at Ratho due to poor weather forecast for final day. Disappointing pub/ dinner places en routes.

We went from hilperton to Bathampton and back to Foxhanger to the foot of the locks, didn’t have enough time to travel through but walked the stair. Great trip Bath was really interesting and would recommend the free walking tour from the heritage centre
