The boat we had from ABC Wrenbury Mill was a Wren model just a year old, so in very good condition and which was supplied with everything needed for a pleasant cruise. After a few days we noticed the auxiliary battery had very low capacity. . When this became a problem we called for help and in about two hours new batteries had been installed by a very patient engineer working in the rain. Yet another example of the good service we have always had from ABC boats.

Generally we were pleased with the ABC experience and especially the staff at Springwood Haven. However, we would have liked to have been told by ABC that all the locks were all shut down and given the opportunity to postpone our hire period or we might have claimed for the cost of cancellation on our holiday insurance.

booked a 4 night trip on the mon and brecon canal. Staff were great at handover very informative unfortunately when we tried to sleep on the barge, basically we couldn't. The bed was advertised as a double, we had emails and phone calls confirming this multiple times before hand. It was 2 small singles pushed together and those singles had seen better days so uncomfortable my wife spent a night on the couch area , which was just as bad we handed the boat back 1 night early due to lack of sleep. When I said the reason why the lady at reception equipped " oh that must be the one without the memory foam" at this point I just left . Speechless.. First experience of narrowboating, not the most pleasant when deprived of sleep.

All of our Finch class boats follow the same internal layout, which includes two singles that can be joined together to form a double. Due to the limited space available on board, the beds are designed to convert between singles and doubles to adhere to the layout and flexibility we advertise. We understand that this setup may not meet everyone’s expectations, especially when compared to the comfort of mattresses at home. Had this issue been reported during your trip, our team would have done everything possible to assist, including offering a mattress replacement where available. We always encourage guests to reach out to reception while on board so we can help resolve any concerns promptly. We're truly sorry that your first experience of narrow boating was affected in this way, and we do hope you'll consider giving it another try in the future. ABC Boat Hire

Great holiday. Only four stars as after a couple of days we had an awful smell from the toilet system. Eventually sorted at Nantwich Marina where the ABC team were excellent and thorough.

Highly recommended staff wonderful very helpful with information location of the marina was easy to find enjoyed the cruising the only thing we had fault with we thought the boat we had was coming to the end of it's hire life was because it could be hard to steer in a wind and didn't like shallow water plus it used a lot more fuel than last time but that was all

Boat good apart from not steering too well in the wind and not liking shallow water like other boats we have hired from you aso it used a lot more fuel we thought it was coming to the end of it's working life
