Had a great week on our canal boaf with ABC Boat Hire! Enjoyed every minute. The canal water level was very low in places, causing you to feel vibration on the bottom of the boat, and through the rudder, with it scraping on the canal bed. Did make it feel like hard work at times, and we did not get to our planned destination. Not the fault of the boat hire company though. Would definitely book with ABC again. Most probably next year. Only comment I would say on the boat is it could have done with some extra hanging hooks and shelves. Limited space for 5 peples coats etc throughout the boat. Only for info, and no way a complaint. Thank you again!

Parking area was good. Check in was timely. Boat was ready. Clear instruction pre-departure. Boat was clean and well equipped. Maybe could have done with a detailed map and details of facilities along the route,

The service at Anderton was excelent. But as ABC is our single point of contact we SHOULD have been warned/informed about the present lock/water situation well in advance. We hired the boat to do the Cheshire ring, looking at ABC home pages there is NO mentioning of this not beeing posible. You can not expect that foreing boathires are aware of the canal situation in England. Luckely the Trent & Mersey canal opened the day of the hire, if not …..?

The boat was beautifully presented at pick up, spick and span! Friendly, helpful staff, better WiFi than last year, tv had dodgy audio, but no biggie.

The canal itself is narrow, shallow and badly overgrown, especially to the southern end, so maybe not for beginners.
