Having had an ABC holiday before, from Alvechurch Marina, we were really looking forward to this trip, but sadly we didn't enjoy it. The rivers were in bad condition, the locks were in desperate need of maintenance and the biggest problem was finding anywhere to moor. The boat smelt of rotting wood, toilets and drains. This made it quite unpleasant to be on board, and was largely the reason we came back a day early rather than spend another night on the boat. Our original intention was to get to Oxford but only got to Pangbourne. We cruised for 5 hours in the first day, 7 hours on the second, stayed at Pangbourne for two nights and then came back. Again 5 hours and 7 hours cruising, but somehow we managed to use £90 of diesel, 55 litres!!!! I found this very hard to believe, but have no way of knowing if the boat was full when we left, or witness how much was put in when we returned, but can't help feeling ripped off. The staff were friendly enough at the Marina, but we were never asked 'how was your holiday?', or 'How come you've cut your trip short?' All in all, very disappointed, and in no rush to do it again

We have traveled on a few ABC boats but not the duck until now, only downside was the galley layout wasn't as good as the others and quite dark.

Excellent Whitchurch Marina. Friendly and helpful staff, instructive boat handover and clean boat. Good assistance to moor the boat on return at end of holiday. Altogether an enjoyable experience.
