We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Nigel of ABC was a fantastic tutor and carefully and patiently explained everything to us. We did the 4 counties in just over 6 days - challenging with early starts and cruising until around 8 pm but with just the 2 of us I think we did well!

Whilst the cruise between Aldermaston and return was fine the staff at Aldermaston were not very helpful.

Black Country Ring - great circuit, but some of the lock gates through Birmingham very difficult to operate with many broken paddle mechanisms.

Staff were all super helpful, my husband left a coat on board and it was posted on to us immediately. The Skylark was just rather tired and uncomfortable. The padding on seats didn’t seem to fit, drawers were wonky, it all felt a bit aged

We have used ABC once before and used other companies too. Booking is straightforward and communication is good. The introductory talk when we joined the boat was good. During the talk we were told that the Skylark was going to be taken out of service at the end of the season. Over the five days we were on board we realised why, it was the least comfortable narrow boat we have been on and has clearly seen better days
