From arrival at the boatyard, to handing the boat back, we had a fabulous experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the boat was well equipped and very clean, and it had everything we needed on board. The route to Leaington and back was great for a long weekend - the right mixture of locks and cruising - and the slow pace of canal life left us feeling realaxed, and as if we had been away for much longer than we had.

we had a great weekend only criticism would be boat cleanliness there was dog hairs all over the boat inc bedding. tv didn't work at all and thought fuel fee was expensive for 3 days use. but otherwise great service thank you

Customer service was excellent, every question I had before the holiday was answered within hours even at weekends. On arrival the staff were very helpful and ran through all the instructions and demonstrations with confidence and without any delay helping us get away on time. We had a wonderful week without any problems from the boat only my crew mates and our return was equally efficient and helpful and would like to thank everyone concerned.

Great boat. Loved the seats and security at the rear as had you do children with us. Also having the dining area at the front of the boat rather than the middle as before was an added bonus.

We felt that the Staff was superb, friendly and most informative. The training we received was excellent, and all questions and concerns were addressed and answered. We especially appreciated the fact that the boat we rented, the Happy Wren, appeared to be in almost new condition, well-maintained and sparkling clean. I would recommend ABC Boat Hire to my closest friends without hesitation, the experience I received was top notch.

The interior of the boat was not very clean. The boats heater did not work so the boat was very cold by morning, it also necessitated running the motor to heat the water. We could not find sheets for the bed in the centre galley. The inside bed in the rear of the boat was very uncomfortable, on inspection the mattress was found to be dirty old and deformed.

Leaks from skylight in kitchen meant i had drips on my head when cooking. Leak was there on arrival, patch with silver tape did nothing when pointed it out. Door hatch in middle of boat had water pouring in when it rained heavily. Had to use towels to soak it up and then have to walk over cold wet towels in the night from bed to loo. Luckily we had an extra set as we had the boat for two weeks or we would have had to call the marina to supply us with more for this purpose. Please change the shower pump out switch to a simple on/off one like the previous boat we had. Having to stand there after a shower holding the switch down was tedious and had the kids complaining. It took a minimum 5 mins after every shower so over the two weeks holiday I spend 1hour10mins stood in the bathroom holding the pump switch. We all had to do the same. It would take an electrician 5mins to change the switch. The 12 flush warining on toilet was also ridiculous. There should be a guage telling you where it is like a petrol one on the car. It was not funny one evening (5 days in) have the red light come on & then realise we would have to travel for 5 hours the following morning to the nearest pump out and then pay £20 for it. Our previous boat lasted the full week and pump out wasn't even discussed?? Unnecessarily stressful for a family of 4. There was also a really strong smell of sewerage in the middle bedroom when it was breezy weather. The headlamp did not work which we discovered when we went to enter a tunnel - very dangerous! The other light at the front did not work and neither the pathetic hand charger torch supplied on board. We had to rely on our mobile phone torches?! Others we passed said they were given spare bulbs for their hire boats? Overall - really poor boat maintenance. Such a shame as it's a lovely looking boat.
