Your recent holiday on Bunting - Snow Bunting from Gayton

We were told on handover that we may need to get a pump out during our trip. Indeed the 'red light' came on on the last day of the trip indicating pump out required. I feel that the boat was therefore not fully ready at handover

Your recent holiday on Wye - Cedrik from Whitchurch Marina

Staff very personable and helpful. Boat clean, as advertised and everything worked. I only gave the marina a good as the loos leave a lot to be desired.

Your recent holiday on Plover - Piping Plover from Reedley Marina

Everything perfect but no automatic lighter for the hob. The tiller and rudder were not straight and a lot vibration through the tiller.

Comfortable boat; well thought out design. Some niggles that need addressing: fridge was small and badly designed. Also Engine felt tired and old.

Your recent holiday on Finch - Red Backed Finch from Goytre Wharf

The holiday was both a break and a trial as we are planning on becoming continuous cruisers for a few years as a way of changing our lifestyle and touring the National waterways network to see more of our Country. We chose the Mon and Brec as its a standalone canal and we couldnt just go there on our eventual own boat. Having never cruised on a NB this was a great learning experience, very quiet canal, tight bits, shallow bits, more curves than straights with plenty of bridges and a short tunnel, a few locks, an electric and manual lift bridge. We gained more experience in those few days than any helmsman course I've seen, in my opinion. The turn around time on both arrival and departure was as efficient as it could be and all the staff were friendly.

Your recent holiday on Thrush - Redwing from Wrenbury

There were numerous, minor, 'issues' which would not warrant a 5 star rating, otherwise it was a good boat. 1) There was no inventory provided beforehand and we were not told what items (normally provided) were not being provided due to Covid 19 measures. These included place mats and foil and cling film - we could have brought these if known. 2) The fridge was not of a suitable standard. We were told beforehand that we could not put large items (eg 4 pints of milk in the door) otherwise it would break the support rail and fall out. This is a silly and unacceptable design fault. It is essential that the fridge door is capable of holding opened bottles of milk, wine and fruit juice and the rail should be strong enough to hold such in place when opened - there is NO reason why this should not be the case. Also, they were so small in height that things like cheese slipped under them. Again no reason why they had to be like this. 3) The toilet doors where slightly warped and they were difficult to open/close - one of them was particularly bad and really had to be pulled very hard to shut. 4) The coat hangers were just too large for the 'cupboards' and one was forever having to angle them all slightly before being able to shut the door.
