We were on the Collared Dove and it was absolutely wonderful. The boat was spotlessly clean with everything you could want for a great holiday. I was worried about how cold it would be given the time of year but it was lovely and cosy with the central heating. As quite newbies to canal boating the staff at the marina gave us full instructions and helped us out and through the first lock. They couldn't have been more helpful and didn't keep us hanging around either, they were expecting us and were ready to get us on our way as soon as we arrived. Fantastic holiday, would definitely come back again!

Beautifully relaxing and grounding. Staff where amazing right from the start to the finish, very attentive and full of knowledge providing us with the best support for our very first canal boat experience. The experience is breathtaking and wonderful for the mind bring you back down to earth with nature. The amount of various creatures, animals, birds, plants, mushrooms etc we seen was amazing and so educational for the children (aged 10 and 8). The community of people with their own canal boat where so supportive and helpful. The experience brought people together. We kept the WiFi password from the children for them to escape from the fast pace life of today and they sulked for a couple of hours but due to the amount of team work required it was soon forgotten about. We are booking again for next year for a large boat with more of the family. Its been amazing, thank you so much.

Despite our original holiday plans having to change (we wanted to cruise in to Wales), ABC were able to change our starting Marina and provide us with a similar boat for a great week away.

Last minute decision to go. Booked 2 days before the holiday started. Everything went well. Our only problem was with a flat starter battery (which was our fault) and the instructions to correct the issue was simple and the engineer stayed on the phone until we were happily on our way again.

We were novices boating in October. We enjoyed the trip but found it quite stressful we needed the 4 adult crew to cope sometimes as the canal was congested near the cities The Info/handover ahead of trip and on day was good. The boat was well maintained. Bedding is decent and boat is well equipped. Wifi is OK but you can’t send photos we found not sure you could work on board. The wifi is Data limited check ahead if you need good access. The cleanliness of the boat was average the vacuum was dirty and full when we tried to use it, we found fruit under a bed maybe it was just a quick handover but given Covid the process needs improvement. It’s a busy canal. We found many of the moorings were taken up by winter moorings in the cities meaning we could not moor up where we’d planned and in fact we were so far out one night we cancelled our restaurant and elected to return early to the marina rather than risk not finding mooring for the last night. We did have a 69ft boat it’s fair to say. A small boat may not have this issue. The team were helpful and fuel refund was prompt. This marina has a shop, garage and fish and chip place near the parking compound. The processes for car security and access out of hours work well. We felt the lack of specifics on finding water points led to more stress than necessary those details could be better. Beautiful scenery at this time of year.
