Everyone ay Union Wharf was most helpful, and we got away very speedily on our day of departure. The samd was true when we returned, and we even had a text exchange with them when we were out cruising.

The booking staff were exceptionally helpful & so were all the other staff we dealt with. The boat was good but we had problems with the electrical supply resulting in all sockets losing power every night even with no power being used at all. Each morning we couldn't light the cooker without starting the engine. Also, it would have been nice to have some chairs to sit on when outside. There was no shower curtain attached when we collected the boat so I had to ask for one.

The Marina staff from start to finish were great. The boat was very clean and, as far as we could tell, was well-maintained. There was a slight hitch with not having all the correct bedding on the first night. This was due more to miscommunication than a fault. It was a little inconvenient but this was quickly sorted the next day. It is the second time we have used Aldermaston Wharf and we highly recommend it.

ABC Boats are good but the mooring if you go on the thames from aldermaston is very poor.and if you do find mooring expect to pay on average £10 a night. also not many water points

The canal was very busy and tended to be lined with moored ‘rat’ boats which made progress slow. The plug in the central bathroom sink was awkward and it was difficult to make the sink hold water
