Service and boat generally very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Guidance for water points is needed since the keys provided did not fit the point attempted.

Everything is as it should be, the staff are welcoming friendly and have answers to all the questions you may have. The staff will also advise on minor changes to your trip to enhance the experience. The boats are fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break.

We thoroughly enjoyed our latest trip ( the 9th ) and look forward to the tenth. The only observation I would make this time is that we felt there was an excess safety briefing. Previously we had had just 1, about the boat. On this occasion we were obliged to watch a video of how to operate a lock, followed by a demonstration with a wooden model, again demonstrating how a lock works. We then had a boat briefing, followed by a technical boat briefing. Come on guys, we have been canalling for more than 10 years now and done dozens and dozens of locks. Quite understand the need for safety but surely some notice of hirer's experience should be taken into account.

Lovely new boat. Everything worked really well. Well designed and beautifully clean. All the staff we encountered were really helpful. The Union Canal is beautiful and we enjoyed our passage up and down the Falkirk Wheel as well as the trip down the locks and back to the Kelpies. Would thoroughly recommend this holiday.

Although we were beginners it was a most relaxing break, there was a bit of work here and there but thoroughly enjoyed. We took our Springer with us and she certainly gives this the lick of approval so, with that in mind, we are now thinking of doing the Caledonian Canal! I would only suggest, as I did on departure, they could moor the barges the wrong way and then turn it round with you...reversing is the thing that was REALLY difficult

We had an excellent holiday onboard the Collared Dove, motoring around the Black Country ring for 7 days in mostly good weather. The boat was clean and in mainly good condition, though the decking around the conning position was somewhat uneven, posing a trip hazard. The vacuum cleaner was ineffective with very poor suction and the microwave cooker didn’t work. All these points were detailed in my summary form at the end of the holiday.
