Very enjoyable family holiday - kids loved it, so did the Grandparents!! We'd highly recommend the Stratford canal - plenty of locks, tunnels, bridges, aqueducts etc to keep everyone entertained.....

We are five pensioners who regularly hire a boat (on different canals) in late March to avoid busy canal traffic. In our midweek break, we managed to reach Bourneville and return to Worcester, negotiating 112 locks and nearly 5 miles of tunnels. The 'White Tailed Eagle' was probably the best boat we have ever rented with comfortable seating and sleeping berths. Importantly it had very efficient heating! The Worcester ABC staff could not have been more helpful and we would recommend them without hesitation.

We really enjoyed our holiday . It was our first time my husband and son-in-law drove the boat, we only got as far as wilcoxsholm bridge 42 then came back . We dident make it to Edinburgh due to the bad weather. The guys that helped us through the locks were great . The falkirk wheel was amazing we would do this again hopefully weather will be better.

Think the boat we got was good - felt fairly new. Had most of the things you wanted. Although TV didn't work (reception is poor on canal) and wifi hardly worked (for similar reasons). So I would assume they don't work and pack / prepare for that. We found the people in the wharf a bit panicky / passive aggressive. Needing all the adults to be there before commencing with instruction when in fact only two really needed to hear instruction as only two maned the boat. Also as we were running late, hanging on for everyone meant we had to pay a fine of £50. Maybe they should consider doing a video tutorial.

It is important that all members of the crew do listen to the handover as the safety information is relevant to everyone, however, your comments have been forward to the Marina Manager. We do need to administer a fee to discourage customers from returning late from their holiday and impacting on the customers arriving later that day. We hope to see you again soon.

The whole experience from booking through to handing the boat back was extremely well organised and the staff were so helpful and friendly. They definitely went above and beyond and even when half way through our holiday our toilet stopped working due to a blockage (2 year old had thrown my husband's wedding ring in there), Paul the engineer came to meet us once we moored to sort it for us and thankfully retrieved the ring (we didn't know it was the ring at the time). We'd like to thank Paul in particular as he was outstanding. He did our instruction on the boat and was so thorough in making sure we were not only safe but confident enough to go out by ourselves. The boat was spotless and had near enough everything we could need during our 7 day holiday (even things like a knife sharpener). Everything was thought of and the information manual was very informative and thorough without being too complicated for novices. I would highly recommend anyone to use Alvechurch Marina, fantastic customer service and definitely made our holiday a better experience.

Reallt friendly staff... even put away our Tesco order away for us. Boat was our best so far... really comfortable beds. Our best ABC boating holiday yet and they have always been brilliant!

Very enjoyable trip except for the weather! Double made up bed was a bit uncomfortable but duvet and pillows of good quality. Pump had to be switched off at night due to noise. "Briefing" surely could be shorter as much of the information was repeated 3 times by various members of staff - very through!!!

Thank you for your feedback. First time boaters do tend to like important information to be repeated but we appreciate that if you are experienced then this could be a bit time consuming. We are always working to improve the design and configuration of our dinette beds, with comfort being an important factor. Most aspects of the holiday were very good, but one major one - the comfort of the seating during the day let it down. The saloon bench seats were not comfortable to sit on for prolonged periods and the ridge about shoulder-height at the back was particularly uncomfortable.
