Absolutely excellent service, attention to detail, excellent quality boat and full in depth tuition. Highly recommended and will book again next year. Staff are superb, nothing is too much trouble, service with a smile.

We had a great week on the Grand Union Canal, a pub every day, weather great and our boat was a dream. A minor hiccup first morning with flat house batteries which the Marina fixed in 1/2 hour of our call. The tunnel was awesome and 16 locks a great deal of fun Highly recommended Richard, Rodney, Andrew, Greg and Noina

Great feedback, thank you. The Braunston Tunnel at 830 yards long is certainly an experience, we're pleased you enjoyed it as well as all of the locks! Very efficient, friendly staff. Boat clean and no faults. Could update some of the maps they are selling as some pubs on route permanently closed.

Thank you for your feedback, it's great to hear that you found our marina staff friendly and efficient. We sell the most up to date maps/guides in our shops but unfortunately they cannot always be accurate as pubs close and change hands all of the time. If you are able to plan your route in advance then it is a good idea to check if the pub has a website or call prior to the start of the holiday. Alternatively our marina staff should be able to recommend local pubs during your handover. We look forward to welcoming you back aboard in the future!

The boat was late being ready to leave The boatyard seemed to be in chaos The Boat (Great Owl) was old and tired The boat was not that clean on handover The handover instruction was efficient This is the fourth year running we have hired through ABC. Other experiences at other boatyards was very good. Alvechurch seems to be an outlier Dusky Warbler: Hand-over was severely delayed which affected our plans for that day. Process could have been speeded up by allowing "training" and loading to have been done at the same time that repairs were completed. Delayed even more while beds were reconfigured and unbooked bedding was removed. Rear toilet was showing a red light by only 3rd day and required a stop to pump-out. Was showing full again by the end of the week. Was not being used excessively, Needed bigger tank or flushing water adjustments. Stern door bottom bolt kept falling into bolt hole. Crew locked out several times – required extreme gymnastics to open again - Annoying. The “traditional “ stern design is not very convenient especially when there are lots of people on board and getting on and off can be difficult through the only small gap at the back of the boat. Also – awkward tiller handles – hinged ones are much more convenient for crew movement. Please note that we had two boats but were only assigned this one review entry for both.
