The boat was very well presented when we arrived. "Shore Lark" has a superb layout with nothing to fault. All amenities functioned without any problems throughout our week on board.

From booking to boarding the boat and the week onboard, everything went smoothly. Boat was nice and clean and in perfect working order. We would happily hire a boat from them again.

The Staff at Hilperton were amazing from enquiry stage right through to returning the boat. Every person we came in contact with was good humoured, knowledgeable and very very helpful.

The stairs down into the boat had very course sandpaper as a non slip effort..everyone came away with nasty grazes.. The man who gave us the safety talk took an hour and a half!. Surely an hour too long..however nice he was. Otherwise it was all lovely..well equipped kitchen..

It was a happy week for us, adults and children. The countryside is beautiful and the towns/cities were interesting. The boat Black Lark was perfect - except that the water refill hose had no screw end, so we had to stand pushing it into the taps for some 10 minutes each time.

We had an amazing trip. The boat was spotless and in excellent repair. We had one small issue with the shower draining and ABC was there immediately to fix it. There is a great briefing at the beginning that told us not only the features of the boat and tips on driving but suggested places to stay and eat (and places not to) along the route.

The most beautiful boat I have been on in 40 years of narrow-boating! The boat was well-equipped and comfortable, and the marina staff were prompt and helpful to get us underway. Although our family were experienced boaters I am sure that novices would be well looked-after. The Marina was also prompt to respond and send someone out to fix a problem with a loose fender when we called them. The Llangollen Canal was as beautiful as we had hoped too. Altogether all the ingredients for a great narrow-boat holiday.
