My husband and I had a wonderful 4 days on our Narrowboat from ABC Boat Hire on the Llangollen canal. Even though we are from Australia, we were able to organise the hire of the boat through email. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful with the booking and payment of the hire, with no hiccups along the way. When we picked up the boat, we were given thorough tuition before we set off. The boat was clean and had all the necessary equipment needed for a smooth few days cruising on the canal. We wouldn't hesitate to hire a narrowboat from ABC Boat Hire again and again. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Lovely, well equipped, cozy boat. Soon got the hang of it. Might want a slightly thicker duvet for winter trips.

We had a very short hire from Friday to Monday, which was great for a taster of narrow boating. Going after the clocks had gone back meant we had less than 2 hours on the Friday and having to be back by 9.00 on Monday meant we didn't get that far. Would have been nice to pick it up a bit earlier in winter but it was a lovely, cozy, well equipped boat and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly, helpful staff at ABC.

Plenty of interest on the route to Chirk. Problem on first lock on the return trip which could have led to a long delay. Apparently this has been a problem for some time and really needs to be rectified.

Toilet at the back of the boat didn't always flush, we phoned the marina & 5hey talked through what we needed to do but 5his happened every day

Navigation restrictions (not under ABC's control) made a four-day midweek break shorter than we would have liked.

Sadly, Gayton Marina had failed to empty the toilet tanks so that one was full after only 48 hours and the other was full by the end of four days. This caused quite a bit of anxiety and we were delayed having to get a pump out at an independent boatyard. The fact that the staff are under notice of redundancy does not excuse this.

The narrowboat was comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. The boat handled pretty well for novices and the handover was smooth.
