We have used ABC many, many, times, they are our preferred canal holiday company. However, this was the first time we had used the Whitchurch Base and we were very surprised by how helpful and friendly ALL the staff were. We felt that they all went out of their way to be as friendly and helpful as possible. Whilst on previous occasions staff had been 'friendly and helpful' we felt that they were 'just doing their job', whereas at Whitchurch we felt that the staff really enjoyed their job and took pride in being as friendly and as helpful as possible.

Wonderful canal and good base to start from, made all the more special by the exceptionally helpful staff at the base, who were so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

We were taken care of at Black Water Marina. David, Sarah, Pauline and Chloe were lovely to us and made our trip smooth for the 2 weeks that we had the American Black Swift. The narrow boat was perfect, and we had everything we needed for the 2 week rental. We had an amazing holiday!

Everyone at Wrenbury Mill boat yard was very friendly and helpful. The boat, Dune Lark is beautiful: well designed, practical and easy to live in. More advice on pumping out toilets would have been welcome; first I was told it would not be necessary in 7 days but the engineer thought it would. The engineer was right in spite of us all being parsimonious with the flush. We had 2 toilets for 5 people, and the one being used by 3 ran out 2 days before we returned the boat. The other red light came on as we returned the boat. A list of nearby places where it could be done would have eased anxiety, we just didn't know where to go and a telephone call to base didn't help because the names on the map weren't the names the telephone answerer knew. Yes, it was a wonderful holiday. Children aged 12 and 10 and adults all enjoyed themselves greatly. I recommend it all; relaxing natural surroundings, ducks etc. to feed, great pubs to eat at.

The toilets are pumped out before arrival but sometimes can need a pump out half way through your holiday. I will ask the Marina to put a list of the pump out stations in the folder onboard. We had a very enjoyable trip on board the boat. Everything was straight forward to use and we really enjoyed exploring the area. It was such a pleasure to find a nice spot to moor up on.

Service was excellent. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. It was our first time hiring a narrowboat but the staff were very good during the handover and showed us everything we needed. The boat was also excellent quality and had everything we needed.
