The boat was clean and tidy, well equipped and exactly as described in the brochure. Our journey from Hilperton to the River Avon beyond Bath and back went without a hitch with the boat performing superbly and meeting our every need. The canal community made us feel welcome almost without exception and the weather was fabulous. This was our 3rd trip with ABC Boat Hire and will most certainly not be our last - already looking through the brochure to decide on 2023's location ! Thank you to ABC and the Hilperton team. We have used this company for many years. they are always courteous and professional. The boats are extremely well equipped and the Monmouth and Brecon is a stunning canal. We were able, thanks to the staff effeciency, to be away from the marina before midday. Excellent

Excellent induction, excellent boat. We motored through Birmingham to the Black Country Museum. Back into Birmingham and onto the Cadbury Experience. Concluded with a cruise down the Stratford canal to Lapworth and return to Alvechurch. Brilliant trip.

The boat was perfect for two of us (although it can sleep four). It had everything we needed and was comfortable. The galley was well stocked with cooking equipment and crockery etc. The routes from Gailey Wharf provided opportunities to work with locks, go through a small tunnel and a small aqueduct without having to clock up lots of tiller-time. We loved the slow pace and beautiful scenery. The people of the Midlands are so friendly - we have never said "hello" so many times!

From the initial inquiry to the end of the holiday they were excellent. The booking process was straight forwards, the booking in was painless and the boat handover was inclusive. The boat we had this time was quite new but we have used ABC for many years and their boats on occasions have beed fairly old but always very serviceable. Top team.

The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They are experts about their boats and the routes and took time to give us the information we needed. When we had a problem with the electrics, it took one call to get it resolved and then Nigel (who resolved the problem) called back with an afterthought to ensure we did not have the same problem again.
