Boat was fine but we were advised to top up water every day or so but incredibly difficult to find water stations. We also would have appreciated more advice about the limitations of turning points for a 3 night trip. This aggravated by the need to return the boats facing towards Newbury. It would really help if you removed that requirement which is plain irritating when returning from Newbury direction. Staff waiting to clean boats on our return were all arguing with each other and a little to eager to get on board as we were unloading.

It would have been 5 but on the first night we discovered there was only 2 large towels and 2 small towels for 4 adults and 2 children, leaving us no choice but to buy more the next day

We had the most lovely experience, staff were amazing and very very helpful from start to finish. Our only criticism is that the boats are rather out dated. Particularly the TV's not worth having as they did not work. No one uses DVD's any more. Also incredibly hot and nothing to ease this. We also believe you should have a luxury choice of boats.

Lovely boat, could have been cleaner. Equipment was like a 1980s caravan, but functional (steel teapot for example - bit roadside Caff...) Staff, especially the yard lads, really friendly and helpful. Tip - get a GPS on your phone and find the max speed - its a lot less throttle than you think, we wasted a lot of fuel from our own stupidity.

Nice boat although the beds were very narrow compared with some of the newer boats we’ve been on. Clean. Good handover. Book needs updating as info on how to access the wifi is wrong. Shower head in front cabin kept falling down

Thank you for your feedback. Our Warbler Class does have the option of wider beds in two of the 3 bedrooms and these should have been available to you unless otherwise requested. We had a fantastic week on the Sandpiper and would highly recommend ABC Boat Hire! All staff were friendly and efficient, everything was explained to us (especially as we were 1st timers) From the moment of arrival until the time we set off on the Saturday, we were met by friendly staff and were out on the water ready to enjoy our holiday within a few hours. The boat was lovely and clean! On our return, were again met with friendly smiley faces and were unloaded and on our way home within an hour. Would highly recommend and will be returning!!!

Easy handover process. Well presented boat. Difficult to seat 6 round the table. small free standing stools may be better than the fold down bench on one side of table. One of the toilets required pump out and was full again at end of trip despite very conservative use. We have been on at least a dozen canal holidays and never before required a pump out.
