Very thorough & friendly yard. Find the dining table difficult on Duck class boats to deal with for larger folk but replaced it with the small table stowed under the seat in the bow. There were a few other minor issues with the equipment e.g. can opener didnt work and dining seat support was broken. Main issue with the holiday was that unfortunately the yard had apparently not been advised that the River Cam would be closed just 2 miles short of Cambridge and had we known that we could have diverted to somewhere else.

The boat needed some work done on it. Locks on door and windows were broken. Lack of plug sockets was also a problem.

Staff and boat excellent and the experience was excellent but thought price was a bit expensive on the boat for 60 hours thats almost £17 an hour or £400 for 24 hours

We were very happy with the boat, and our week as a whole. As you are aware our boat was broken into on our last night. When we explained what happened to the marina the following day the person we dealt with said We normally tell people not to moor up near at Kings Norton ( where we were broken into) as it has a reputation for being unsafe. I really wish someone had told us this at the handover and this would have saved us a £1000.00 insurance claim and three children who were pretty shaken up by the event

Excellent communications and information during lead up to holiday (COVID period). Appropriate instruction on handover and boat was scrupulously clean. Good choice of routes from Anderton

The canal infrastructure was dreadful in several areas, such as a swing bridge which didn’t swing, several locks which were difficult to drain or fill and very few good moorings. Odd things were wrong with the boat, which included cupboard doors which didn’t close, a very poor hose for taking on water, no written information on how to drain the shower, toaster not fit for purpose, loose shelf in fridge door, fridge was inadequate in the hot weather, skylight leaked when it rained, inadequate information on how to make up the double bed, 240V system failed for last two days.

Our 3rd year with ABC, great company, very professional and run through everything thoroughly with you. Their boats are of exceptional standard compared to other hire companies boats we have seen in the waterways. The marina staff are always very helpful, whenever you need them.

Had a wonderful three day break. Relaxing and great fun and would - in fact, have already - recommend to others! We had a six birth boat for four or us (and two dogs) and that worked well. Greater information/hints and tips would have been very useful as we were complete novices. Quickly learned a lot though! Less than five stars as the extremely limited wifi was annoying particularly given the cost of the hire - seemed old fashioned and unnecessary to limit it.

A great 4 day holiday from Gailey down the Staff/Worcs canal to Autherley, turning there into the Shroppie and up past Brewood to Wheatley Aston, turning there and returning to Gailey. I didn’t like the Viking Medway “Rodulf” quite as much as last year’s “Collared Dove”, but that is just a question of degree, the Rodulf was a lovely boat. I’m looking forward to next year’s hire from Falkirk.

All round excellent trip. Boat and service was great. £1500 for 3 days is very expensive however. Kids were disappointed the WiFi didn’t work for the entire trip.
