Despite some drawbacks we thoroughly enjoyed our canal holiday

We had a lovely family holiday despite the weather. The boat was well equipped although we didn’t like the layout having the bedroom at the rear, particularly when the rear hatch leaked into the bedroom.

We've wanted to go on a narrowboat holiday for years and this absolutely lived up to our expectations. The perfect peaceful escape from everything going on! No screens, just rolling fields and birdsong. The boat was fab, had everything we needed. We'll definitely do it again.

Our main complaint about the boat was the fact that the phone charging connection didn't work and we lost HiFi connection after five days, then when I got it reestablished we lost it again in five days .

Very good only slight issues were that perhaps we could have been advised to buy a pump out card due to lack of manned pump out stations and also meant to tell you hoover was broken and would of liked to hoover up to keep boat nice

We thought overall that the boat was not up to the usual standard, a bit tired, and somethings were broken.

The boat was very tired looking. Mould in the shower room, lighting poor and waterproofs not waterproof, light beside rear door kept coming on, central heating switch went wrong.

Brilliant week on the mon and Brecon canal, fantastic scenery, lovely towns and village's, nice pub's along the way and a great boat

The boat was clean, well equipped and spacious. Instructions were clear and user-friendly. Only reason for taking 1 star off was the requirement to return the boat by 8am on the final day - this wasn't practical and there were no 'nice' mooring spots near the Wharf, so we ended up bringing the boat back one night early and missing out on our final night on the boat (no point spending a night in a canal boat parked up by an industrial estate!). A later return time and/or guidance on where to moor up the night before that is still pleasant (before you get into the more immediate vicinity of the Wharf) would have resolved this.

On arrival at Alvechurch Marina we were given the wrong configuration of boat. I booked a boat that had 2 permanent double beds left up all the time, we were issued with a boat that had 1 permanent double bed & one in the sitting area that converted to a double bed. This was most inconvenient as my wife is disabled & had to keep moving to different rooms. The lock keys issued by the company did not work on the Wolverhampton locks. The waterproof clothing issued only went to size large & did not fit any of us. We found the Black Country Ring filthy with plastic bottles, floating black bags full of rubbish, old clothes, shopping trolleys etc. Compared to our last boat holiday the waterways have definitely become disgusting & not being cared for. We will not be going on a further boat holiday until some improvements are made in tidying up the canals.
