Disappointed in the seating breaking which meant a call out to be fixed. Toilet was not emptied prior to our departure which meant a stop off and cost to get this sorted. Also having to be back in the boatyard the evening before so loss of time on the holiday.

The Manager at Falkirk has confirmed that it was necessary to come out to you and replace some screws in the seating area, she apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Every boat is pumped out as part of the turnaround process at all of our Marina's but we have found that the toilet tanks on Cactus Wren do fill slightly quicker because of the amount of water used in the flush mechanism. All boats need to be back on the Forth & Clyde Canal the evening before the return day because of the timings of the Falkirk Wheel. These timings are taken into account in our route descriptions in the brochure and on our website. We hope to see you again soon!

We had to use the wet weather gear and one of the leggings was split down the side. The inventory said that there was a chopping board and a torch. We couldn't find either. The vacuum cleaner was jammed full as if it had never ever been emptied. I think that there should be instructions given on winding points. We turned around at the winding point just above the first lock with the help of the lock keepers, who advised us that if we went to the next winding point past the top lock, we would have struggled to return the boat on time.

Incredibly relaxing break, very quiet and picturesque. Cruised to the top of Hatton Locks and returned and only saw 6 active other boats. Perfect social week, good family and friends time.

I thought the service by your team was very good especially Paul - we had to come back and have new batteries fitted and he was quick and efficient, turned the boat around for us and off we went.

The boat was great .. Special touches helped though the main table has draw back for 8 adults re seating .. the table end at the step could do with a folding chair or such ? Great storage and well presented No reflection on any one at ABC or the base or boat but we had 2 very disturbing encounters with live aboard folks around Bathampton where we were approached by a small row boat with an outboard motor . The guy was obviously drunk or on something . threatened our crew inc 3 women in their 70s with garotting etc zig zagging dangerously as he approached our moving boat . We accept we are invading their space in a way but this could have become ugly for anyone prone to responding

I gave 5 stars because staff gave excellent service. Service from every person I had contact with was attentive, helpful, effective, accommodating, reassuring ( for this novice!), and pleasant. Names I recall are: Jason (pre-trip telephone planning), Mandy (email and front desk), and Jay ( on-board training). There were others whose names I do not recall. In addition to customer service, the boat worked! Only thing that could have been better: weather.
